Dorothy Evelyn Pitcock, of New Market, passed away on Friday, at the age of 94.
Mrs. Pitcock was an active member of the Plevna Community and Quilting Club. She loved to travel, play Rook and visit the New Market Senior Center. She worked as a door greeter at KMart for many years and was an election officer for the County, passing out ballots for over 60 years. She truly loved her family and will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grayson Pitcock, her daughters, Sherlyn Burks and Sheila Moore. Her parents Ollie Ray and Annie Mae Fanning. Her brother Jonah Fanning , sisters Nelta Gwathney and Sadie Ree Reid.
Survived by sister Fay Roden. Four grandchildren Kim Moore Boseck, Kory Moore, Brandon Burks and Chaney Burks. and 11 great-grand children.
The family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at 1:00 pm at the Hazel Green Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 2:00. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery in New Market.
