Dorothy Elaine MaclinDorothy Elaine Maclin passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Brookwood Medical Center. She was born Friday, March 7, 1952 in Spokane, WA to Edward (Ruth) Parmenter and Rachel Parmenter in a military family. When her mother passed away, at a young age Elaine went to live with her maternal grandparents in South Ryegate, Vermont. She had many stories of growing up on the farm, and when her father remarried to Ruth Parmenter, she was soon joined by lots of siblings. Elaine was a florist by trade, and she loved painting as a hobby. She loved pets, and always had a cat, a dog, or a bird while her kids were young. One thing, among many, that she passed to her daughters was perseverance and resilience.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Maclin; mother, Rachel Parmenter; and grandparents, the Homeister’s, and the Parmenter’s.

Survivors include her daughters, Rachel (Jeffery) Graves, and Naomi Reynold; father, Edward (Ruth) Parmenter; siblings, Lily Parmenter, Sarah (Joe) Fennell, Patrick (Jen) Parmenter, Sandy (Bob) Theisen, Rosalis (James) Beaulieu, Clayton Parmenter, Carol (Jim) Tucker, Deborah (Bill) Graves, Danielle Parmenter, Tymothy (Kay Ann) Parmenter; grandchildren, Kristopher “Krittur” (Jessica) Morrison, Ducky Hillard, Elizabeth Hillard, Hannah (Jordan) Hillard, Elliot Hillard; and a host of nieces and nephews who were loved, even from so far away.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to your favorite animal shelter, women’s shelter or The American Heart Association.
