Dorothy “Dottie” Y. Blackburn, 75, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Diversicare in Tupelo. She was born May 13, 1949 to the late John Hollis Scribner and the late Delphi Hill Scribner in Nettleton. She was a member of Intercontinental Church of God and enjoyed painting, going to Mickey Gilley concerts, and sitting on her deck watching the sunset. Dottie loved to be near the water, whether it be at the beach, or the lake, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11am on Tuesday July 30, 2024, at Senter Funeral Home with Mike Deaton officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 on Monday July 29, at Senter Funeral Home.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In addition to her husband of 36 years, Roger Blackburn, she is survived by her son, C.J. (Paige) Blackburn of Golden; grandchildren, Branigan, Isabelle, Baylex, and Paisley Blackburn, all of Golden; and one sister, Frances Burt of Nettleton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Hollis Scribner and Delphi Scribner; and three sisters, Betty Jean Quigley, Ruby Johnson, and Judith Larue Allen.
