Dorothy “Dot” Ross, 90, passed away Monday morning, December 15, 2025, at her home in Reagan. Mrs. Ross was born November 1, 1935, in Haywood County, Tennessee, to the late James Ivy Mooney and Virgie Alice Mooney. She retired from HIS in Saltillo after 30 years of service. Mrs. Ross was a member of Cedar Grove Holiness Church. She was a great cook, and she enjoyed crocheting and gardening. Her ministry was her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Lee Hart and Edward Lee Ross; a son, Connie Glynn Hart; a daughter, Peggy Joyce King; and a grandson, Donnie Scott. She was the last surviving sibling of twelve brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a son, Ronnie Hart (Joyce); two daughters: Doris Scott (Danny), and Teresa Camper (Jeff); eight grandchildren: Dorinda Petty, Dustin Scott, Chris King, Josh King, Chris McDaniel, Jeremy Hart, Candice Peterson, and Kashia Camper; and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Pafford Funeral Home of Scotts Hill on Tuesday, December 16, from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM, and on Wednesday, from 10:00 until 12:00. Funeral services for Mrs. Ross are scheduled for Wednesday at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Baptist Cemetery near Scott Hill.
