Dorothy Dean May Howard, 84, of Florence, died April 18, 2014, at Mitchell-Hollingsworth. Visitation will begin at 1pm Monday at Greenview Funeral Home followed by the service at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with David Rushlow officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Howard was a native of Lauderdale County who was born to the late Clyde May and Eula Mae Wesson May. She was a member of the church of Christ and a home maker.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Cecil Howard and brothers, James K. May and Charles D. May. She is survived by her sons, Roger C. House, Florence and Patrick House, Ruston, LA; brothers, Clyde R. May, Florence; sisters, Mary Ruth Grigsby, Levon Darby (Pete), Ann Oakley (Bill), all of Florence, Fay Masterson (Jack), Russellville and Linda Mitchell (Wayne), Summersville, SC; grandchildren, Roger C. House, Jr., Joshua Bradley House and Jeremy Stephan House; great-grandchild, Layla Corine House.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Shoals, 115 Fairgrounds Rd., Florence, AL, 35630.
The family would like to thank Mitchell-Hollingsworth, 2nd floor, especially Molly Jones, and Hospice of the Shoals, especially Vicki Stout, for all the wonderful care given to our loved one.
