Dorothy Berry Swinea, 81, of Florence, passed away Monday, November 03, 2014 at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing Home.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 11 am. in Jacksonburg Church of Christ Cemetery. Officiating will be Steve Smallwood. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Swinea was preceded in death by her parents, Wilmer Reed and Lillian Elise Berry; infant son, Michael Reed Swinea; brother, Billy Berry; sister, Betty Redding.
She is survived by her husband, Ellis Swinea; sons, Dennis Swinea (Rhonda),
Joe Swinea, Ellis Swinea, Jr. (Debbie) all of Florence; daughters, Ann Davis (C.W.) of Northport, Ala., Jean McCreary (Dale) of Mt. Pleasant, TX; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Mitchell-Hollingsworth for their care and compassion shown to Mrs. Swinea.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jacksonburg Church of Christ Cemetery Fund or to Mitchell-Hollingsworth.
