Mrs. Doris Yvonne Elkins Pace was born Sept. 14, 1935, and passed away Dec. 26, 2017. She was the wife of Hoover Eugene Pace.
Visitation with family and friends will be held Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at Underwood Baptist Church in Florence, Alabama, beginning at 10 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Hoover Eugene Pace; children, Roland Pace (Beth), Richard Pace (Carolyn), and Lori Wilson (Mike). One sister, Carol Sue Roberson (L.O.), survives as do her grandchildren, Chris Pace (Jenny), Bridgette Harlow (Troy), Jake Russell (Rachel), Josh Wilson (Micah), and Morgan Wilson. Great-grandchildren include Wyatt, Mattie, Zeb, and Adah Wilson, Rivers Russell, and Carter and Lane Harlow. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lymon Mitchell and Dr. Felix Morris for their care and compassion as well as a special thank you to caregivers and most importantly our friends, Laura Shipe and Ann Welborn, for all they have done during our difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Clinical Research Program at UAB Hospital.
