Doris Yount Goans, 96, passed away Saturday. She was a long time member of University Baptist Church where she was loved by many. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Goans; son, John Smathers; parents, Noah and Anna Yount; sisters, Clara Willfong and Bertha George; brother, Nolan Yount and many dear friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Louise Brezin of Hickory, NC; daughter, Martha Potts of Huntsville; granddaughter, Chloe Potts of Huntsville; grandson, Caleb Potts of Ardmore; great-grandson, Wyatt Potts of Huntsville; numerous nieces and nephews and close friends, Robert and Barbara Crumbley.
The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Huntsville Memory Gardens with Dr. Bobby Burt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to University Baptist Church Child Development Center in honor of Doris Goans.
