Graveside Funeral service and Interment for Doris Sue Alldredge, 88, will be Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 11:30 AM in the Hartselle City Cemetery with Rev. Charles Woods officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alldredge died on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida . She was born March 19, 1930, in Jefferson County to Thomas Buckner Strickland and Gladys Beaty Strickland.
She was a teacher for 26 years and taught high school in Cullman and Albertville, the taught middle school school in Albertville. Sue received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University. In her younger years, she volunteered in Scouts, schools and church activities at the First Baptist Church in Albertville and enjoyed college football. In later years, she enjoyed traveling extensively around North America with her husband, Sherrill. For the last 13 1/2 years, Sue enjoyed living in a retirement community, Sun City Center, with her husband of 62 years. Sue enjoyed life, especially spending time with her family.
