Graveside service for Doris Phipps Thomas, age 75 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 PM at Blanche Cemetery with Rev. Evan Garner officiating. Mrs. Thomas passed away Thursday morning at Lincoln Medical Center.
A native of Putnam County, TN, Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of the late Frank and Treva Sparks Phipps and was a homemaker.
Survivors include daughter Sharon Thomas Faison (George) of Decatur, AL, son Paul Ellis Thomas (May) of Decatur, AL, and daughter Andrea Thomas McCurry (Paul) of Brentwood, TN; grandchildren Courtney Claire Parsons, Elisa Landess Faison, Emily Andrea Faison, Eva Marie Faison, Sofia Marie Thomas, Ethan Samuel Thomas, Duncan Paul McCurry and Cullen Thomas McCurry; brother Charles Phipps (Linda) of Fayetteville, two sisters Wanda Harwell and Carol Padgett both of Monterey, TN, sister-in-law Ruth Whitt of Hazel Green, AL, brother-in-law Earl Thomas (Paula) of Murfreesboro, TN, brother-in-law Glenn Thomas (Joan) of Huntsville, AL.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Ellis Thomas, daughter Pamela Thomas Parsons, sister Velma Zornes and brother-in-law Ralph Whitt.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
