Funeral Services for Mrs. Doris Pendley Ogelsby, age 89 of Ashland, will be held Sunday, September 7, 2024 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Chris Hayes and Pastor Noah Vickers are officiating. Burial will follow at the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Oglesby passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 at her home. She was born in Berry, AL and made an annual trip back home to visit her parents’ graves. She worked at Faber Castell company for many years as a book keeper. Mrs. Oglesby had a wonderful doll collection and loved flowers, especially roses. She also was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Mrs. Oglesby is survived by husband, Marcus Eugene Ogelsby “Gene”; two daughters, Rita Nunneker(Cory) and Terri Elder(Mark); two sons, Larry Crowder(Chris) and David Crowder(Tina); ten grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Harvey Augustus Pendley and Sara Elizabeth Madison Pendley; one son, Barry Crowder; two sisters, Mildred and Greta; and one brother, Boyd.
Mrs. Oglesby will have a visitation on before the service from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Sunday at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland.
