Doris McDonald, 85, of Huntsville passed away Saturday at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by her family. A native of Madison County, Doris was an active member of University Baptist Church where she sang with the Jubilee Singers and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union. She was also a member of the “Live Wires”. Doris retired from Sherwood Baptist Church, after 24 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted McDonald, Jr and brother, Thurman Brazelton. Survivors include two sons, Larry McDonald (Becky) of Huntsville and Mark McDonald (Ellen) of Madison; grandchildren, Nick McDonald and Michael McDonald; three great grandchildren; brother, Dewey Brazelton (Cheryl); sister, Wilma Neeley (Walter); and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at University Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Burt officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
