Funeral service for Doris Maxine Thrasher, 88, will be Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phillip Gilbert officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thrasher died on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at her residence. She was born April 29, 1926, in Indiana to Gustav Fredrick Schuette and Lucille Irene Godwin Schuette. She was a member of Cedar Plains Christian Church where she taught Sunday School. Doris was a registered nurse, and was employed by the U.S. Post Office, where she was the first female mail carrier in Hartselle. She loved to garden, travel and do crafts. She was preceded in death by her husband: Henry Ford Thrasher, a son: Robert Glenn Thrasher, a brother: George William Schuette and her parents.
