Mrs. Doris Jenell Banks Bridges of Pineywoods, AL passed away on May 23, 2020 at the age of 85.
She owned Mom and Us flower shop, loved cooking, and her home was always filled with love and laughter. She was lovingly known as “Granny” to many in the community. She also made the best fried chicken and hamburgers. The biggest joy in her life was her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She made the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren blessed.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Etta Banks; husband of 66 years James Bridges; son Randy Bridges; grandson Brad Bridges; and Brother Bill Banks.
Survivors include her daughters, Lila Farley (Paul), and Barbara Rollo (Mike); Son, Timmy Bridges; brothers, Mike (Carol), Gene (Barbara), and Harold; brother in law, Charles (Pat), and sister in law, Dean; grandchildren, Heather (Kelly), Kyle (Andi), Tracey, Lindsey, Lauren, Ben, Blake (Jennifer), Jo Amy, Bradley; and great-grandchildren, James-Taylor (Danielle), Anderson, Wynn, Ella, Jordan, Carson, Harleigh, Caige, and Carter.
Services for Mrs. Bridges will take place in the Bell Funeral Home Sumiton Chapel on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. with burial at New Hope Cemetery in Sipsey immediately after.
Visitation will be in the Chapel from 12:00 P.M. until service time.
