Doris Jean Pounders, 76, Tuscumbia, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013. Visitation will be Tuesday night from 6 – 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Colbert Memorial Gardens, Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Seth Hood Officiating.
Mrs. Pounders was a native of Colbert County and a member of First Baptist Church of Colbert Heights. She was preceded in death by husband, Larry Joe Pounders; parents, W. E. and Katie Wallace Ussery.
She was survived by special cousins, Tony Frederick and Douglas Cooner; Caregivers, Lynn James and family, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be W.C. James, William James, Christopher Frederick, Lawrence Kimbrough, Jr., Dale Frederick and Doug Cooner.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nursing staffs of the 4th floor and PCU at Helen Keller Hospital.
