Doris Jean Malone, 92, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at Burns Nursing Home in Russellville, AL.  She was born in Franklin County, AL to James Thomas “Tommy” and Vassie Cordelia Lindley Humphries.  She worked as a seamstress and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 3, 3:30 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. David Holcomb and Bro. Dayton Martin officiating.  Burial will be in Halltown Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by three children-Elzie Malone (Martha), Scotty Malone and Nina Wood; ten grandchildren-Wanda Boyd, Kim McDonald, Cindy Taylor, Chris White, Gina Jones, Jeremy Malone, Chad Malone, James Malone, Jesse Venable and Eli Venable; seventeen great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; one sister-Marvalene Shewbart (Jack) and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband-Buford Elzie Malone; her parents; one son-Phillip Malone; one daughter-Barbara White; granddaughter-Jamie Humphres; great-granddaughter-Abby Stallsmith; son-in-law-Ralph Wood; grandson-in-law-Mike Taylor; four sisters and three brothers.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons-Jeremy Malone, Chad Malone, James Malone, Christopher Boyd, Jesse Venable and Eli Venable.  Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons Chris White and Phillip McDonald.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 2, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
