Cremation was chosen for Mrs. Doris Jean Knighten, age 85, a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
Mrs. Knighten, a retired nurse, was born August 15, 1940, and passed away Friday February 13, 2026, at her home surrounded by children.
Mrs. Knighten was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Knighten; a son, Donald Ray Warren; a daughter, Linda Taylor; her parents, Wallace Mitchell and Myrtle Reeves; and two brothers, Allen Mitchell and James Mitchell.
Mrs. Knighten is survived by three daughters, MaryAnne Harlan of Boonville, IN, Patty Chandler (Thomas) of Springville, TN, and Gail Smith of Trenton, TN; five grandchildren, Ben Harlan (Jacque), Drew Dickinson (Jessica), Cody Lockard (Samantha), Laura Leach (BL), and Hinton Carlton (Caley); nine great grandchildren, Olivia Dickinson, Layla Dickinson, Mason Lockard, Lyric Lockard, Melody Lockard, Cullen Leach, Hattie Leach, Lane Leach, and Ava Harlan; a niece, Sandra Hill (Greg); and a nephew, Jimmy Mitchell.
