Doris Hill Tate – Obituary

Doris Hill Tate, age 87 of Warrior entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at St. Martin in the Pines.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 9:30 AM at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Walker Memory Gardens. Sammie Reid and Jack Davis will officiate.

Doris was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await her after passing. She married the love of her life, Arnold Tate, and they were happily married for 55 years, during that time they were inseparable. She was blessed with two children, Eddy Charles Tate (Gina) and Virginia Bonham (Larry). Family and friends were Doris’ passion and delight. She loved the time she spent with them. Doris loved to travel and was often called Doris “Go” Tate by her friends. She influenced the lives of many children during the 25 years that she drove a Jefferson County school bus in the Bagley/Corner Community. The family is especially thankful for the continued care and support provided by Covenant Place, Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Brookwood Medical Center, Magnolia Ridge and St. Martins in the Pines Hospice Home.

Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by her Husband-Arnold E. Tate; Son-Eddy C. Tate; Mother-Agnes Brown and Father-Byrd Hill.

She is survived by her Daughter-Virginia Tate Bonham; 4 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Larry Bonham, Shannon Bonham, Shane Bonham, Ronald Rhodes, Walter DeCastro and Tommy Self.
