Mrs. Doris Graden Sibley, 91 of Scottsboro, Al passed away Friday morning, October 27, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Doris enjoyed attending church, spending time with her family and yard sales when she was able to. She was born in Decatur, Al and attended Drake State nursing program. Doris was very proud of her career as an RN and very loved and respected nurse in the community.
She is survived by her husband, Fay Sibley; daughters, Libby Long (Harrison), Barbara Peacock (Tony) and Micky Graden; step-children, Janet Lauderdale (Byron) and family, Jerry Sibley (Bernadette) and Family John Sibley (Becky) and family, Joe Sibley (Lori) and family, and Jim Sibley (Patty) and Family ; grandchildren, Cindy Kennamer (Eddie) , Jami Johnson (Jason), Shannon Goin (Lance), Rachel Peacock, Christian Lemons (Raegen), Amanda Perez (Tristen), Makayla Lacy (Zach) and Brian Sibley (Stephanie); great grandchildren, Ashley Graden, Marlee Kesler, Noah Guffey, Bree Barnes, Autumn Moore, Patrick Moore, Jett Johnson, Everest Salig, Lynken Perez and Stratford Lacy, Hunter Kennamer (Brianna), Levi Kennamer, Logan Kennamer (Brittany) and 7 great great grandchildren, Bekham Kesler, Shepard Kesler, Copper Kennamer, Colt Kennamer, Lily Bendall, Kinley Bendall and Cooper Daniels .
Proceeded by late husband Gurley Graden; parents George and Florence Raper; sons Dale Graden (Tammy) and Patrick Graden; sister Margaret Golden.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2023 at the Scottsboro Funeral Home with Brother Rayford Bethune officiating. Burial will follow into Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2023 at the Scottsboro Funeral Home.
One thing she hoped to instill in everyone is to never leave without hugging and telling your family you love them.
