Doris Christopher Etheridge, 89, was born on January 19, 1935 in Oktibbeha County, MS to the late Robert A. Christopher and Opal Quinn Christopher. She passed away on December 31, 2024 in Starkville, MS. She was a retired cashier with Kroger and member of Adaton Baptist Church. She was a good cook and loved Atlanta Braves Baseball and Duke Basketball, but most of all she loved her children and her dog Tuff.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Haven Etheridge; and sister, Jean Geiger.
She is survived by her children, Donna Gazaway (Bennie) and Peggy Arick (Mark), all of Starkville, Robbie Etheridge (Laurissa) of Mercer, TN, and Linda Holden (Larry) of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Tommy Gazaway (Trenica) of Ackerman, MS, Tony Arick (Caitlyn) and William Arick, all of Starkville, MS, and Stephen Holden (Lindsay) of Brandon, MS; great grandchildren, Janie Arick, Annie Arick, Anthony Arick, Christopher Arick, Hadley Holden, and Haven Holden.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, January 6, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Bill Kellum will conduct the service. Burial will be in Adaton Baptist Church Cemetery in Starkville.
