Doris-Lindsey-1467405150Doris Byler Brown Lindsey of Three Churches community, Collinwood, TN, was born April 12, 1918 in Wayne Co., TN, the daughter of the late Allen and Hattie Byler Brown. She was united in marriage to Wesley Zeno Lindsey on June 25, 1939 and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2003.

Mrs. Lindsey was a retired teacher and homemaker and a member of the Collinwood Church of Christ in Collinwood, Tennessee and departed this life on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 98 Years, 2 Months, 19 Days.

She is survived by a son, Ronnie Byler Lindsey and wife, Shirley of Bolivar, TN; a daughter, Dean Stegall and husband, Billy of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Misha Stegall Johannes and husband, Bob, Sheila Diane Lindsey Overton and husband, Greg, Lindsey Steven Stegall and wife, Michelle and Jason Alan Lindsey and wife, Tracy; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Michelle Overton Hood and husband, Justin, Keerstein Erin Stegall Estes and husband, Jake, Morgan Elizabeth Overton, Brint Alan Lindsey, Steven Chandler Stegall and Kolby Baker Lindsey; a great-great-granddaughter, Mya Michell Overton and a sister, Mildred Duke of Memphis, TN.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Lindsey was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ryleigh Meree Stegall and a sister, Edith Brown Kerr.

Services will be Sunday, July 3, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Glenn Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Bob Johannes, Steven Stegall, jason Lindsey, Chandler Stegall, Brint Lindsey, Kolby Lindsey, Greg Overton, Jake Estes and Justin Hood.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 8 pm and Sunday, July 3, 2016 from 11 am until service time at the funeral home.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be given to the Butterfly Foundation, Waynesboro, TN.
