On September 12, 1929, Dora Perry blessed this world with her presence and went home to be with God on Thursday, August 18.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Ed Perry Sr., her son Starlyn Kethley Perry, daughter Jo Ann Humphrey, father Floyd Brooks, mother Annie Mae Ivey, stepfather Herbert Ivey, brother Guy Swint and sister Zelma Meeks.
She is survived by her children Olivia Barnes, Joe Ed Perry Jr., Delores Newton, and Keith Perry, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, brother-in-law Charles Meeks and 2 nieces.
Dora loved spending time with her family, flowers, traveling, coloring, quilting and doing word find puzzles. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.She was a hard worker and worked at Huntsville Manufacturing until they closed. She also worked until she was 82 years in retail sales at Belks Department Store.
Visitation will be Tuesday August 23, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm for family and 6:00p.m. to 8:00 for public at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24. 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rice Cemetery in New Market, Alabama.
