Donny Wayne Parmer Donny Wayne Parmer, 45, of Guntersville, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly on
Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025.
Born on November 6, 1980, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Donny was the son of
Don and Patty Parmer. He spent his childhood in Manassas, Virginia and Mobile,
Alabama before moving to Arab. After graduating from Arab High School in 2000, he
joined the U.S. Marine Corps.
Donny proudly served his country as a Marine through 2007. After being
honorably discharged, he returned to the Marshall County area and made his home in
Guntersville. Donny continued to pursue his passion for serving his country by joining
AeroVironment, Inc., a leading global defense technology contractor. He traveled the
world training military special forces and supporting their missions.
Donny had a personality as big as his heart, and he never met a stranger. He
was generous, always willing to help and gave freely without expecting anything in
return. Donny was fiercely loyal and committed to his family and friends and found
great joy in making others feel loved and happy. He enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing,
Jeeps, Auburn football, and cooking in his outdoor kitchen. Most of all, Donny loved
hanging out with his friends and was the life of every party.
Donny is survived by his wife, Tina Parmer; his daughters, Abigail Parmer,
Payten Parmer, Hartley Hill, and Johanna Hill; his siblings Paul Parmer, Shane Parmer,
and Kristina (Parmer) Sweatt, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and
nephews. Donny is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Patty Parmer.
Visitation will be held at the Guntersville Memorial Chapel on Monday, December
15th, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16th,
at the Guntersville Memorial Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Guntersville City
Cemetery will follow the funeral service. Marine Corps military honors will be rendered
at the graveside as a final demonstration of gratitude for Donny’s honorable service and
dedication to his country. A Celebration of Life will be held later that evening at Bargo
Farms.
The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation for the outpouring of
support during this difficult time. Donny’s legacy will forever continue in the hearts of his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. Semper Fidelis.
