Donnie Lee Martin, of Athens, Alabama passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital.
Donnie was born on Friday, March 23,1951, to Mr. Bill Martin and Mrs. Nannie Beatrice (BB) Mitchell Martin in Athens, Alabama.
He spent all of his life in Athens, Alabama where he was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Donnie was half owners of Bill Smith Overhead Doors for 38 of the 39 years there.
Donnie loved having community chicken stews at Oak Grove Club House, as well his hay business. He mostly enjoyed helping others in any way he could.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, eight brothers: JW, Howard, Barry, Billy, Bobby, David, Kenneth, and Charles, as well as one sister; Ruby Brooks.
He is survived by his wife Judy Martin, one son: Timmy (Nina) Martin, two daughters: Dana (Jay) Craig, Hope (Bradley) Young, one sister; Peggy Magnesson, five grandchildren; Kirsten, Ethan, Copelyn, Peyton, as well as Paisley.
There will be a visitation for Donnie, Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 1:00 PM, with Bro. Jerry Smith officiating at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be private family only.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Cancer Society of Huntsville, Alabama.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
