Funeral service for Donnie Gary Sharp, age 65, of Decatur, will be Thursday, July 24, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Wesley officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Sharp, who died Monday, July 21, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born March 4, 1949, in Morgan County, to William Kirk Sharp and Ruth Burt Sharp. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Jerry K. Sharp.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Martin of Decatur; one stepson, Stanley Martin; one granddaughter, Ashley Martin; one sister, Diane Cole; four sisters-in-law, Kathy Sharp, Barbara Kingsley, Sybil Radford, and Dorothy Clayton; one uncle, Ralph Sharp; one aunt, Betty Ruth Carroll; one nephew, Wayne Sharp; one niece, Katherine Anne Sharp; four cousins, Rebecca Hockit, Mike Crow, Mike Carroll, and Tommy Sharp; several nephews and nieces by marriage; and special pets, Candy Girl and Tiger T.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Sharp, Hilton Holland, L. M. Nylon, Wayne Sharp, Mike Carroll, Mike Crow, and Ricky McClendon.
