Donnie Buford Dixon, 70, of Florence, died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at his residence. He was a member of Kilburn Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge #402, and the Shriners. He was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and he served in the U.S. Army for two years.
Visitation will be Friday, September 26, 2014 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Greg Dial and Ottis Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with military funeral honors accorded at graveside.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Bradley, Gary Bowling, Dennis Wallace, Dino Wiley, Johnny Thompson, and Tim Dixon. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews.
Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ellen Dickerson and Buford Dixon; sister, Jeanette Dixon Danley; brother, Doyle Dixon; half-brothers, Eugene, Bobby, Cecil, CW, Ray, and EC Dixon.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Elaine Myhan Dixon of Florence; sisters, Janice Dixon Pruett, Betty Wallace; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; one special great-niece, Krystin Thomas; he loved them all very much.
