Donna Tolbert Smith, age 67 of Fort Payne, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026. She was born on June 13, 1958 in Fort Payne to the late William & Irene Tatum Tolbert. After receiving her Masters degree, she taught most of her career at Page Elementary School in Scottsboro before retiring from the Pickens County Board of Education as principal of Carrollton High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Payne.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Lea officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family is accepting flowers, or memorial contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Foundation or to any Hospice organization.
She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Robin (Jerry) Woodall; sisters, Greta (F.L.) Pierce and Jan Stevens; grandchildren, Blake (Hanna) Woodall and Ethan Woodall; great-grandchildren, Jovee Woodall and Emoree Woodall; brother-in-law, Terry Bowen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William & Irene Tolbert; brothers, Billy Tolbert and Randy Tolbert; sister, Nelda Bowen; and father of her child, Terry Smith.
