Donna Sue Butler – Obituary

donnaDonna Sue Butler, 63, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at Florence Nursing and Rehabilition. She was born Dec. 31, 1952, in Lauderdale County to Elvin and Irma Ruth Balentine Butler.

Donna lived her entire life in Lauderdale County and was a member of Community Freewill Baptist Church. She retired from the University of North Alabama after 18 years working as a secretary in the Publications Department and as a typesetter for the Diorama.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Elvin Butler.

She is survived by her mother, Irma Ruth Butler; two brothers, Dennis and wife, Sheila, and Mark and wife, Leonna; a sister, Debbie Borden and husband, Jeff; nieces, Kristie Dodd and fiance, Jamie Cain, Kassie Sparks and husband, Eric, and Karen Mehrotra and husband, Saurabh; and nephew, Chad Butler and wife, Rachael.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today and from 2-3 p.m. Sunday with funeral following at 3 p.m. Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Home in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Brother Malcolm Scott and Brother Gerald Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in Railroad Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge. Pallbearers will be Chad Butler, Saurabh Mehrotra, Eric Sparks, Jeff Borden, Danny Mock, and Jamie Cain.

The family wishes to thank Columbia Cottage, Florence Nursing and Rehab, Hospice of the Shoals, and many special friends.
