Funeral service for Donna Louise Shelton, age 70, of Decatur, will be Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Jackie Kay officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service. Interment will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Shelton, who died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born Jan. 15, 1946, in Orlando, Florida to Robert Arnholt and Esther Freudenburg Arnholt. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brandi Nicole Shelton. Mrs. Shelton was a registered nurse with the Department of Public Health. She worked in the Morgan and Limestone County Health Departments, and served as supervisor for the Limestone County Health Department.
She is survived by her loving husband, Phil Shelton of Decatur; one son, Brian Shelton (Neysa), of Priceville; one daughter, Laurie Potter, of Decatur; one brother, Wayne Arnholt, of Seymore, Indiana; six grandchildren, Matt Wacker, Rachel Potter, Candace Shelton, Alexis Shelton, Victoria Shelton, and Isaac Johnson; one nephew, Scott Arnolt; and one niece, Jennifer Thompson.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
