Donna Kay Seal Hovater 46 of Tuscumbia passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday December 17, 2015 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, AL. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday December 18, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Colbert Heights. A private graveside service will follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Seth Hood and Dr. Mike Sams will officiate.
Donna received her masters in administration from U.N.A. She was employed with the Colbert County Board of Education. She taught kindergarten for 13 years, reading coach for 8 years and was assistant principal for the last two and one half years at Colbert Heights High School. She loved the children she taught. She was regarded as a mother figure and treated each child as if they were her own.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Colbert Heights. She loved her Lord, teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir. She loved God’s creations especially hummingbirds, flowers, and nature. Foremost, she loved her family and was a devoted mother and wife.
Donna is survived by: her husband David Hovater; her parents Crochen and Pat Seal; her son Cagan Hovater; her daughter Carley Beth Hovater; her sister Sandra Seal Blaylock (Randy); her niece Mallory Blaylock Gaston (Daniel); and her nephew Senior Airman Wes Blaylock.
Pallbearers will be Michael Pendergrast, Jonathan Moore, David Isbell, Ivan Denton, Adam Herring, Jacob Walker.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmie Seal, Roger Moore, John Landers, and Brudgie Davis.
