Donna “DJ” Annette Miller Detan, age 67, of Jasper, AL passed away on January 17, 2025, at Brookwood Baptist Hospital in Jasper.
DJ worked as a waitress for several years for Waffle House and McDonalds in Jasper. She was always a good worker and could always be counted on to do a good job. She loved to read and play games on her computer.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachael Martin, son, Joshua Simpkins (both from Indiana); grandchildren, Heidi Phelps (Andrew), Jasmine Bukowski, Lillyanna Martin, Radiance Martin, Ariel Segrest, Kadence Martin; great-grandchildren, Ryhamd, Mila, Arya; sister, Karen Jodan (David) of Hackleburg; brother, Jimmie Barbee (Laquetia) of Tuscumbia; brother-in-law, Glenn Kimmons; step-mother, Joann Miller of Haleyville; nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver & Ruth (Barbee) Miller; brother, Roger Miller; and sister, Joan Kimmons.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
