Donald Wayne “Don” Thompson – Obituary

Donald Wayne “Don” Thompson, 73 of Tuscumbia, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016. Visitation will be Sunday, November 20th from 6-8p.m. at Morrison Funeral Tuscumbia. Graveside service will be Monday, November 21st at 10 a.m. at Hawk Pride Church of Christ Cemetery with David Conley officiating.

Donald was a lifelong resident of Colbert County. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Navy and stationed on the USS Robert K Huntington. He was a member of the Laborers’ International Union of North Alabama #366. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Benjamin Thompson and Leighota Willis Thompson Rikard; step-father, Fate Elliott “Kitty” Rikard, Sr.; step-brother, Ronald Ray Rikard.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Jean King Thompson; son, James Donald Thompson and daughter, Robin Denise Thompson; step-brother, Fate Elliott Rikard, Jr. (Janice); niece, Jennifer McInnish (Rick) and a great niece and nephew.

Pallbearers will be Mark Hatcher, Jimmy Richardson, John Sherrod, Ronnie Stonecipher, and Larry Sanderson.
