Donald Scogin, age 79, of Bear Creek, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Haleyville Health Care.
Donald was a member of Old Union Baptist Church of Bear Creek.
The visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Venlin Bradford officiating. Burial at Red Bay City Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert & Lola Scogin; brother, Kenneth Scogin; grandson, Andrew Frederick; and brother-in-law, Danny Cornelious.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 28 years, Lynda McNatt Scogin; children, Wade & Brenda Scogin, Paul Scogin, Jill and Scott Pendley, all of Haleyville; Donna & Ken Frederick of Hackleburg; step-children, Robert & Tracy Hooker of Bear Creek, Chris & Debbie Flanagan of Double Springs, and Diane Berton of Alexandria, LA; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne & Elvis Scogin, Doris Cornelious, both of Haleyville; five nieces; one nephew; and a host of friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Haleyville Health Care Center, and Station 3, Tracy Hooker; as well as to the staff of Amedysis Hospice.
Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
