Funeral service for Donald Ray Minor, 82, of Priceville, will be Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Riverside Cathedral with Brother John Chesser and Brother Carl Maynard officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery at Upshaw. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Minor, who died Monday, July 6, 2015, at Cullman Regional Medical Center, was born March 31, 1933, in Lawrence County to James M. “Jimmie” Minor and Macie Hudson Minor. He was a member of Riverside Cathedral Church in Decatur and was employed by ABF Truck Lines as a truck driver prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Selma Roberts, Muriel Hampton, Atholee Hill, Billy Minor and Elsie Jean Adams.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Partridge Minor; three sons, Wayne Minor (Sandra), Roger Minor (Deanie) and Danny Minor (Suzanne), all of Priceville; two grandchildren, Shane Minor (Sonya), of Priceville, and Ginger May, of Birmingham; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Melton and McKenzie May.
Pallbearers will be Shane Minor, Harold Bullock, Mark Hatfield, Doug Proctor, Dale Roberts and Darryl Proctor.
