Donald Ray Hovater passed peacefully from this life on June 17, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born on January 4, 1942, to the late Marvin and Ginevra Hovater. He was married to Linda Hovater for 64 wonderful years. He was a father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Donald was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and proudly served his country in the Army National Guard for eight years. Donald was “Mr. Fix it” and was able to fix anything. He enjoyed woodworking and had a passion for stained glass. A gifted self-taught artist, he created beautiful stained-glass pieces that became treasured gifts for family and friends. He loved being a family man and always serving with a smile.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jerry “Bugs” Hovater.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Mitchell Hovater; daughter, Karen Robinson (Phill), son, Danny Hovater (Carrie Jo); grandchildren, Alisha Holt (Jordan), Maggie Hovater (Tae Brent, fiancé), Savannah Britnell (Jamie), Sierra Lawler (Gabe); great-grandchildren, Bennett Britnell, Beckett Britnell, Jace Holt, Isla Lawler; sister Marveline Allen; and a host of family and friends.
