Donald R. Trosper – Obituary

Funeral service for Dr. Donald R. Trosper, 76, of Somerville will be Tuesday February 14, 2017 at 2:00PM at Valhermoso Holiness Church with Bro. Gerald Case officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00AM to 2:00PM at the church.

Dr. Trosper died February 10, 2017 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born June 24, 1940 in Indiana to Raymond Franklin Trosper and Martha Romain Sayger Trosper. Dr. Trosper was an accountant and he founded the American Business Center. He was a U.S. Army Airborne Special Forces veteran and he served in Korea and Vietnam. Dr. Trosper received a bachelor’s degree from Athens State University in 1985 and he received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Biblical Studies from Buxton University in 2005. He was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa fraternity. Dr Trosper was a founding member of the Madison County Rescue Squad and was recognized as the Morgan County Volunteer Fire Department EMT of the Year in 1994. He was also a certified commercial pilot. Dr. Trosper was a beloved pastor for over 40 years at Valhermoso Holiness Church. Dr. Trosper was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Elma Ransom Trosper.
