Mr. Donald Owen Pace, 78, of Florence, AL passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at his home. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Jackson Heights Church of Christ with the funeral to be held at 3 p.m. Officiating will be Barry Gilreath and Leon Cole. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mr. Pace was a native of Farmer’s Exchange, TN and a long-time resident of Florence, AL where he was a faithful member and former Elder of Jackson Heights Church of Christ. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and a retired Terminal Manager for Roadway Express. Preceding him in death are his wife, Paula Sue Black Pace; his parents, Sam T. and Addie Jane Bastin Pace; brothers, Jim Pace, Johnny Pace and Homer Pace. Surviving are his daughter, Hope Pace Frederick (Charles), Killen, AL; sons, Gregory Owen Pace (Carol), Florence, AL and Jeffrey Black Pace, Anniston, AL; sister, Melba Pace Cash, New Johnsonville, TN; grandchildren, Kyle Frederick (Jennifer), Florence, AL, Morgan Williams (Blake), Athens, AL, Jessica Cantrell (Dale), Newnan, GA, Joseph Pace (Jessica), Carrollton, GA, and Elizabeth Llewellyn, Florence, AL; great-grandchildren, Kenley Frederick, Florence, AL, and Bennett Williams, Athens, AL.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Frederick, Joseph Pace, Blake Williams, Dale Cantrell, Doug Hill and Wallace Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be the past and present Elders of Jackson Heights Church of Christ and John Lawson, Buel Springer and Woody Wright. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson Heights Church of Christ building fund.
