Donald “Lynn” Horn, 62 of Munford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25th at his home surrounded by his family. Lynn was born July 11th, 1961, in Talladega, Al, but grew up in Lincoln. He spent a lot of time during his teenage years in Tallahassee, Florida visiting his father. Lynn graduated from Lincoln High School then spent 38 years working for Norfolk Southern Railway, finally retiring in 2021. He loved his family and spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids. He was an avid fisherman and could be found in his bass boat or on his pier at the river. He loved the beach and enjoyed fishing off the shore and shrimping with his son. He had a passion for gardening, spending a lot of time getting his garden ready and taking care of his vegetables. He was also a wonderful cook and made his famous chocolate cobbler and BBQ chicken for his family often. Lynn was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Lynne Horn; son, Brent Horn (Morissa); daughter, Jennifer Horn; Mother, Barbara Gillespie; and grandchildren, Lyla, Sawyer, Brody, and Kaleb.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald W. Horn; and grandparents, James & Thelma Burgess and Almetta Horn.
The family would like to thank Hannah and Carla with Aveanna Hospice and Catherine Blackburn for their comforting support during this difficult time. The family is also thankful for the many visits, phone calls, texts, and meals from family and friends.
In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you take a moment to hug a loved one, walk in the woods, or sit on a riverbank. Time waits for no one.
