Donald Jones, age 91, born August 9, 1933, passed away suddenly on June 21, 2025, at his home.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all. He was a member of the Cattlemen’s Association. Loved tending his cows and horses, gardening, and spending time outdoors. He spent many hours watching basketball, while talking to his brothers about the game.
He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Russellville.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Mary Jones; son, Keith Jones; daughter, Amanda Fummeler (Steven); stepdaughters, Wanda Wright (Maurice) and Deborah Bacon (Ron); grandchildren, Jackson and Harrison Fummeler and Jared Bruce; brother, John Paul Jones; sisters, Sue Shewbart and Linda Edgar (Kenneth); as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Troy & Fannie Jones; son, Dannie Jones; daughter, Mary Sue Bruce; grandson, Dexter Fummeler; and stepdaughter, Stephanie Vandiver; brothers, Royce Jones, Sam Jones, Ralph Jones, Jay Jones, and Raymond Jones; sisters, Ardis Woodruff and Jane Harrell.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25 from 10:00 am-12:00pm at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville, Alabama. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12:00 pm in the chapel. Daniel Welborn will perform the service. Burial will be at Tharptown Cemetery.
Pallbearers, nephews Kirk Jones, Doug Woodruff, David Jones, Darren Woodruff, JJ Jones, and Mike Ellis.
