Donald Gene Phillips age 83 of Athens, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at Limestone Health Facility. Mr. Phillips was born July 27, 1930 in Limestone County, AL to Roy Waters Phillips and Laura M. McCravy Phillips.
Graveside services will be Sunday, March 30, 2014 4:00 p.m., at Sunnyhill Cemetery with Bro. Tim Keenum officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
Mr. Phillips was a member of Northside Church of Christ, and a Veteran of the United States Army.
Preceded in death by his wife, Christine Phillips; son, Steve Phillips.
Survived by three daughters, Cathy Gene Jackson, Mary Ann Clem and husband, Randy and Kelli Nichole Phillips all of Athens; one son, Joe Nathan Phillips and wife, Carla of Kentucky; 8 grandchildren, Michelle Casey, Brent Phillips, Amanda Pressnell, Heather Johnson, Lindsay Phillips, Chase Clem, Will Clem and Noah Phillips; 7 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brent Phillips, Jon Johnson, Chase Clem, Will Clem, Ben Pressnell and David Ford.
