Donald E. BlakeDonald Edward Blake, 88, of Jamestown, North Carolina, formerly of Fort Payne, Alabama, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025. He was born in Fort Payne to the late Ben Winston Blake and Ruth Self Blake.

Don was a devoted family man with a beautiful heart who loved being a Fort Payne native. After attending the University of Alabama, he had a successful career of 37 years with Sears Roebuck, before retiring in 1993. His retirement years were spent in Greensboro and Jamestown, NC. He enjoyed spending time in Fort Payne with family and loved ones as often as he could. He was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer, loved to fish, and he loved Alabama football…Roll Tide!

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6th in Adamsburg Cemetery, (71 County Road 263, Fort Payne, AL 35967). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Adamsburg Cemetery Maintenance Fund, c/o Ron Ogle, 2912 Wallace Ave. NE, Fort Payne, AL 35967, in Don’s memory.

He is survived by is son Allen Blake and wife Cindy, his grandchildren Madeline, Margaret, Johnny, Michael, Brittany, and Winston and their children whom he loved immensely; his brothers Robert Wayne Blake and wife Kathy, Ben Winston Blake and wife Scott; his special friend and companion Jo Ann Maupin; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death in 2021 by his wife Elizabeth Owen Blake and his daughter Susan Blake Dewar in 2009.

Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
