Donald “Dick” Ennis – Obituary

Donald “Dick” Ennis, 88, of Limestone County, passed away on December 31, 2014, at Limestone Nursing Home. Funeral services will be today, January 3, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Greenbrier Baptist Church with Pastor Ricky Lowery officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Madison City Cemetery.

Mr. Ennis was born February 27, 1926, in Limestone County to Frank and Lydia Virginia Sturdivant Ennis. He was a carpenter and farmer of Limestone County. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pete Ennis, Tom Ennis and Red Ennis; and sisters, Hazel Blizzard, Inez Springer, Irene Ennis and Sis Long.

Mr. Ennis is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mae Sims Ennis; sons, Don Ennis (Venus) of Clifton, TN., Lynn Ennis (Sherry) of Cullman and Kevin Ennis (Kimberly) of Collinsville, MS; daughter, Sandy Covi and son-in-law, Ret. Col. John Covi; brother, Clyde Ennis of Athens; sister, Helen Lowery of Madison; grandchildren, Heath Ennis, Cam Ennis, Londa Bottoms, Donnie Ennis and Turner Ennis; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Heath Ennis, Cam Ennis, Donnie Ennis, Turner Ennis, Brian Bullington and Michael Bottoms.
