Donald Clay Dover, 49, passed away September 8, 2023, at Sanctuary Hospice House, Tupelo, MS. Clay was born on May 13, 1974, in Clarksdale, MS to Oliver and Brenda Dover. At an early age the family moved to Greenville, MS and he had been living in Ecru, MS since 2000. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, counting quarters, watching numerous TV programs, watching Dr. Adrain Rogers program every Sunday morning and listening to Christian music. He loved 18 wheelers, but his health and vision problems kept him from pursuing his passion. He was loved by so many.
Survivors include his father, Oliver Dover; his mother, Brenda Dover; his sister, Caydie George (Brian); his nieces and nephews, Anna Jones (Taylor), Dallas Tigner (Aaron), Preston George (Lauren), and Dawson George (Tesla); great-niece, Emberlynn “Skie” Tigner; paternal grandmother, Lillian Dover; and a host of aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.
Clay was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alba and Ruth Bradley Cook; and his paternal grandfather, Hermon Dover.
Services will be Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 2PM at Ecru Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Furr and Bro. Greg Lassett officiating. Visitation will begin at 1PM and continue to service time. Burial will follow in Turnpike Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Weston Mounce, Chad Stubblefield, Justin McMillen, John Bailey, Jimmy Farris, and Mike Townsend.
