Dona S. Perkins, 84, of Huntsville, passed away on December 25, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Billy F. Perkins; her 2 children Emily Spears (Jimmy) and David E. Perkins and granddaughter, Rachel Spears.
Born in Illinois, raised in Florida she graduated from Lakeland High School in 1959, and from AL College now University of Montevallo, in 1963. Later that year Dona moved to Huntsville where she worked for Dept of Public Safety, now Human Resources. In later years she worked with her church playschool program.
Dona is proceeded in death by her parents, Ray & Norah Schierhorn and sister Norma Larsen. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church and active in teaching, choir and altar guild in early years. Dona was also devoted to Wednesday Ladies Bible Study – Redstone for many years.
Services will be private for the family.
