Dona Burgess Cole, age 94, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2017. Visitation will be today, 10:30 a.m. to noon at First Baptist Church, Lexington. The service will follow at noon with Brother Jeff Cruse officiating. Interment will be at Petttus Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Cole was a member of First Baptist Church, Lexington, and retired as a cafeteria manager at Lexington School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reber Cole; son, Bobby Cole; parents, Tom and Julie Burgess; brothers, T.R. and John Burgess; and sister, Ruth Balentine.
Survivors include sons, Glenn “Beaney” Cole (Margie) and Jerry Cole (Janice); daughter, Kathy Williams (Gary); grandchildren, Aron Cole (Bekah), Tad Cole (Robyn), Wes Cole, Michael Cole (Tracy), Matthew Cole (Amy), Jeremy Cole, Jason Cole (Jennifer), Jennifer Milner, Stephanie Dziat, and Clint Dziat; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Pettus, Frances Campbell, and Marie Brown; special sister-in-law, Doris Burgess; and numerous nieces and nephews.
