Don Suddith – Obituary

Mr. Don Suddith, 86, passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at Burns Nursing Home in Russellville. A native of Alabama, Mr. Suddith had lived in Franklin County all of his life except during the years he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Russellville unit of the Alabama Army National Guard. He retired from Reynolds Metals. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, Russellville, where he was active in the men’s ministry, mission building trips, outreach, senior adult activities, and the Faith Mission ministry. He enjoyed the fellowship of many friends and loved a game of golf until he became unable to play. Many were blessed by his Christian friendship.

Visitaton for Mr. Suddith will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Calvary Baptist Church, Russellville, from noon until 1 p.m. Services will follow at 1 p.m. with Joe Lenox and Wade Wallace officiating. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville.

Survivors include his wife, Regena Askew Suddith; his son, Dewayne Suddith; two grandchildren, Jason and Amanda; three stepchildren, Ken Askew (Melisa), Felicia Ferguson, and Paul Askew (Yvonne); and three stepgrandchildren, Chris, Ashley (T.J.), and Blake. One sister survives him, Betty Respress, of Florida. Nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive him.

Mr. Suddith was preceded in death by his parents, Hosea and Cora R. Suddith, and 12 siblings.
