Don Nix went home to be with Jesus at North Mississippi Medical Center – Pontotoc on Monday, June 23, 2025. He was born on November 9,1989, at Grenada hospital. He loved spending time with his children, going camping with his family, and catching spoonbill fish at the spillway in Grenada. Hanging out with his best friend Tyler, arguing with his nephews and nieces, and sitting at the counter watching his television were some of his favorite pastimes.
Survivors are his wife Jessica Nix, daughters Jessa Faith Nix, Kylie Marie Nix, and Rylee Rayne Nix, his parents Donna and William Mathis, brothers William Mathis Jr, (Breanna) and Dustin Mathis (Kayla), his sisters, Shianne Trimm (Tanner) and Lana Criddle, his grandparents Mary Nix and Betty Mathis, his mother-in-law, Christie Doss and father-in-law, Michael Haire, his sister-in-law, Alex Rodger (Christine), and a great friend that was more of a brother to him Tyler Brooks.
He is preceded in death his grandparents, Leslie Joe Nix, Jerry Mathis, Larry and Reva Martin, and his aunt, Jean Henry.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with visitation beginning at 12PM.
