Funeral services for Mr. Don Mealer, age 79, will be held at 12 noon of Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Hartsfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 am until service time on Friday. Appropriate social distancing protocols with masks recommended, will be observed as set forth by the CDC and the State of Tennessee.
Mr. Mealer was a retired employee of Bruce Hardwood, a former volunteer for the Gibson County Sheriffs Dept., a house parent for Shults Lewis Children’s Home in Indiana, and Church of Christ by faith.
Mr. Mealer passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Morgantown Rehab in Morgantown, KY.
Mr. Mealer was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Mealer, Bill Mealer, and Johnny Mealer.
Mr. Mealer is survived by his wife, Judy Mealer; four children, Timothy Mealer, Chris Mealer, Norman Mealer, and Tina Mealer; two foster children, Jimmy Hunt and Jeff Hunt; a grandchild, Andel Parks; a cousin, Larry Horner; and two nieces, Sandy Mealer and Patty Mealer.
