Donald Floyd Friedman Profile Photo  Don Friedman, formally of Jackson, TN passed away on February 5, 2024, in Dallas, TX. where he had been living since 2020 with his children. Don was married to Jane Lindy Friedman for 29 Years until her death November 13, 1982, and then to Sally Cutter Friedman of St. Louis, MO for 37 years who died on March 14, 2020.

Don was born in St. Louis, MO April 30, 1932, to Maurice David Friedman and Carice Weiss Friedman.

Don and Jane met while they were attending the University of Alabama. After they were married, they made Jackson their home. They opened a shoe store, Sample Shoe, and later opened Friedman’s Footwear. He enjoyed his coffee at The Fox Restaurant with his fellow downtown merchants before the stores opened for the day.

Don was very active in the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, Temple B’nai Israel where he served as President for several years. He was always involved in his kids’ schools and sports they played.

He was preceded in death by his wives Jane and Sally, his parents, and sister Betty Rose. Surviving are his three children David (Debbie Stern), Donald Jr (Debbie Liebs), Ellen (Jennifer) all of Dallas, TX. Two grandchildren Aaron (Batya) Friedman, Jana (Brett) Wollman of Dallas, TX. Two great grandsons, Jake and Jordan Friedman. Don was blessed to spend his last years in Dallas with his kids, grandkids, and was present for the births of both of his great-grandsons.

SERVICES: Graveside service will be held Sunday, February 11, 2024, at 10:00A.M. at B’nai Israel Cemetery.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be directed to Congregation B’nai Israel, P. O. Box 10906, Jackson, TN 38308 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
