Dianna Pinkerton Beavers, 76, of Big Cove, stepped peacefully into a glorious eternity on October 18, 2022, while surrounded by those whom she loved dearest.
The tenth of twelve children, Dianna was born on her parents’ farm in the “lower end” of Big Cove on July 2, 1946. She was a dedicated and lifelong member of the Big Cove Free Holiness Church, having received salvation at the age of fourteen years old. Dianna later met and married Glen Newton Beavers on April 13, 1974; and to this union was born two loving daughters – Selena and Deanna.
Having grown up in such a large family, Dianna was molded from her youth up into the strong woman she became. She was a helper, a guide, a loyal wife, attentive mother, loving sister, aunt, grandmother, and so much more. Above all, she was a faithful Child of God, and exemplified such virtues as honor, loyalty, patience, kindness, and strength. By God’s help, she persevered many obstacles in life, yet always remained positive and able to find the good in every situation – never speaking harshly about anyone. She taught her children to be strong, loving, and kind women, and to always reverence and honor God.
Dianna was preceded in death by her parents, Deimer Clementine and Selena Byrd Pinkerton; siblings: Lorene Kent, David Lee and Virginia Pinkerton, Alfred Pinkerton, Juanita and Jack Lamb, Vera Hunter, Bernard Pinkerton, Shirley Hall, and Windell Pinkerton. She is survived by her husband of almost 48 years, Glen Beavers; children: Selena and Tommy Stewart, and Deanna and Chad Ferrell; grandchildren: Molly Stewart, Baylee and Brayden Johnson, Brayden Stewart, Emma Stewart, Grayson Stewart, Noah Ferrell, and Jonah Ferrell; siblings, Lloyd & Diane Pinkerton, Regina Robbins, Gail Holland, sisters-in-law, Carolyn Pinkerton, Ruby Pinkerton and brother-in-law, Tommy Hunter; and a large host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 20, from 5 until 8 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home, and again on Friday, October 21 beginning at 10:00 AM at Big Cove Free Holiness Church, where the funeral will be held beginning at 11:00 with Bro. Mark Warren officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Valley Cemetery.
